  • Abstract
    The effects of water physico chemical factors lt;br / gt;on phytoplankton communities of Shahrchai lt;br / gt;dam reservoir were studied. 6 sampling lt;br / gt;sites were chosen along Shahrchai dam and surface lt;br / gt;and deep layers were sampled during 3 seasons lt;br / gt;in 20152016. In this study, phytoplankton lt;br / gt;samples were fixed with 4% formalin and transferred lt;br / gt;to laboratory. Identification and enumeration lt;br / gt;of the phytoplankton were performed by lt;br / gt;inverted microscope equipped with 5 ml counting lt;br / gt;chamber. Totally 34 species of phytoplankton lt;br / gt;belonged to Green algae, Diatomes, Cyanobacteria lt;br / gt;and Euglenophyta were determined. lt;br / gt;Statistical analysis was carried out by PCA and lt;br / gt;UPGMA methods. The analysis of data by PCA lt;br / gt;showed that first and second axis created 99% lt;br / gt;of changes alone. There were 3 completely distinct lt;br / gt;groups of samples regarding the sampling lt;br / gt;seasons. The most effective physico chemical lt;br / gt;factors influenced the phytoplankton communities lt;br / gt;were water transparency, EC and water temperature.
