Abstract :
The present study describes the green synthesis
of ZnO nano-sized spherical particles (ZnO-NPs) using
aqueous fruits extract of Terminalia chebula. The Structural, morphological and optical properties of green-synthesized ZnO-NPs are characterized by X-ray diffraction,
Fourier transform infrared, field emission-scanning electron microscope, ultraviolet–visible and photoluminescence spectroscopy techniques. The results show that the
synthesized nanoparticles have stable hexagonal wurtzite
structure, and roughly spherical in shape. To explore the
photocatalytic activity of the ZnO-NPs the photocatalytic
degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye is investigated. The
results reveal that ZnO-NPs prepared through green synthesis route are found to be efficient in the degradation of
RhB dye.
