Abstract
The ameloblastic carcinoma is a rare malignant counterpart of the ameloblastoma. Ameloblastic
carcinoma is a malignant lesion with characteristic histologic features and behavior that dictates a
more aggressive surgical approach than that of a simple ameloblastoma. However, reliable evidence
of its biologic activity is currently unavailable due to the scarcity of well-documented cases. We
present a rare case of a large ameloblastic carcinoma occurring in the mandible of 44-year-old
female highlighting its unique histopathologic features and aggressive behavior treated by radical
surgery and reconstruction. Involvement of left ramus to right ramus of the mandible makes this
case unusual.
