Abstract
We describe a young boy with epigastric pains and transiently altered consciousness, admitted for
surgery.
After cardiology consultation and transthoracic echocardiography, a distal type aortic dissection was
diagnosed. Computed tomography angiography for the evaluation of the aortic dissection was
performed. Given the patient’s hemodynamically stable state and the distal type of the aortic dissection,
he was discharged with medical follow-up.
