Abstract :
Isoquinoline reacts smoothly with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) in the presence of amides to produce
isoquinoline derivatives. Also, quinoline reacts with DMAD in the presence of benzamide to produce dimethyl quinoline
derivatives.
