Abstract :
Many biological compounds have been isolated from aquatics. Sea Cucumber belongs to invertebrates that have traditional, medicinal and nutrition applications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of three extracts obtained from Holothuria parva in the Persian Gulf coasts against marine pathogenic bacteria (Streptococcus iniae, and Lactococcus garvieae). These bacteria are the most prevalent pathogens in warm and cold-water fish breeding farms. Test bacteria were isolated from infected fishes. The antimicrobial activities of ethanol, methanol and chloroform extracts were determined by disk diffusion and well method.
The results indicated that these extracts have no antibacterial effects against the L. garvieae and S.iniae
