Abstract
In 2018, the flat—mite Pentamerismus oregonensis was first discovered on juniper in Kyiv Botanical Gardens and parks (McGregor 1949). This is the northernmost border (50–27 'N and 30–30' E) of the species discovery in Ukraine. Observations of the pest development indicate that the number of mites reaches the highest point in August, then it gradually decreases and single individuals are recorded in September. In the conditions of Kyiv, the mite develops in one generation. Among the studied forage plants of P. oregonensis, its greatest number was observed on Juniperus sabina L. (3.6 ind./leaf), as well as J. communis L. and J. oblonga Bieb. (1.3 - 1.2 ind./leaf.)
