Abstract :
A different approach, which consists of algebraic and direct integration techniques, is developed to study self similar vector fields in cylindrically symmetric static space-times. Here we discuss self similar vector fields of first, second, zeroth and infinite kinds for the above space-times. We have shown that for the special class of the above space-times admit proper homothetic vector fields.
