Abstract
In the present paper, nanosized barium titanate (BaTiO3) powders were synthesized by microwave hydrothermal method. The structural characterization of as-prepared powders was investigated using X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The particle size was estimated using a transmission electron microscope. The nanopowders were sintered at different temperatures using a microwave furnace, followed by characterizations such as X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The dielectric constant behavior was observed as a function of frequency (100 Hz to 1 MHz) and temperature. The ferroelectric nature was confirmed from polarizationelectric field loops.
