Abstract
ThisstudyaimedatinvestigatingtheIranianundergradu-ateEFLstudents’andteachers’attitudetowardsPartnershipApproachasanewwayofengaginglearnersinthelearningprocess.Adescrip-tive,ethnographicresearchmethod,usingaquestionnairealongwithfocusgroupsemi-structuredinterview,wasemployed.Seventy-twoun-dergraduateEFLlearnersand40EFLteacherswithmorethantenyearsofexperienceinteachingEnglishwereincludedinthestudy.Theyweremalesandfemalesofdifferentages.Theyrespondedtotwodifferentattitudequestionnaires.Someoftheparticipantswererandomlyinter-viewedtoshedlightontheaccuracyoftheinformationcollected.The resultsindicatedthatbothstudentsandteachershadasignificantlypositiveattitudetowardsthePartnershipApproach.TheEFLteachersappearedtoholdamorepositiveattitudeandwereinclinedtosupportthestudents’engagementandtheimplementationofthePartnershipApproach,believingthatpartnershipincreasesinteractionintheclass-room,enhancesthequalityofteachingandlearning,andmakesthemanagementoftheclassroomeasier.TheEFLlearnersclaimedtheywouldlearnbetterandwithhigherquality,enjoymore,feelmorere-sponsible,andhavemoreopportunitiestoevaluatethemselvesinsuchclasses.Theyaddeditwouldbeinterestingtohaveapartincreatingthematerial.
