Abstract :
An evaluation was made of possible relation between renal thromboxane (Tx) A2 synthesis (measured as urinary excretion of thromboxane (Tx) B2, and the loss of glomerular permeability to proteins as well as intrinsic viscosity of Hb in 50 insulin dependant diabetic patients and 10 healthy of the same matched age. The result of this study indicates that patients of insulin dependant diabetes mellitus had significant higher urinary TXB2 excretion which appeared as duration of disease increased. Elevation of TXB2 may contribute to altered glomerular permeability to protein in nephrosis. Positive significant correlation was detected between urinary TXB2 and intrinsic viscosity of Hb. This correlation is concomitant with high significant increase in plasma rennin and aldosterone. These co-operative data could draw a good monitoring for flow up IDDM to avoid nepheron deterioration.
