Abstract :
Forty patients were subjected to microdebrider intracap-sular tonsillectomy on one side and conventional electrosurgical tonsillectomy on the other side. Follow-up after 1 and 2 weeks of the operations yielded that postoperative pain, dysphagia, otalgia and bleeding are much less lower in microdebrider tonsillectomy than in conventional electrosurgical tonsillectomy. In conclusion the goal of all surgery is to maximize symptomatic relief and minimize morbidity. Microdebrider intracapsular tonsillectomy is accompanied with much less postoperative complications than in electrosurgical conven-tional tonsillectomy.Aim of Work: To examine whether microdebrider intracapsular tonsillectomy results in less postoperative complications as pain, otalgia, dysphagia and bleeding when compared to electrosurgical conventional tonsillectomy.
