Abstract :
The hazards of hydrogen peroxide have been known for long time, but it is still widely usedin our country for irrigation of wounds. We report a case of oxygen embolism when hydrogen peroxide was accidently infiltrated subcutaneously along with local anesthetic during spine surgery and was successfully managed. We discuss the possible mechanism for embolism and its management. We also want to emphasize on the importance of being vigilant andavoiding such mistakes.
