Abstract :
Background: One-stage mastopexy with breast augmen-tation is an increasingly popular procedure among patients and of considerable interest to plastic surgeons who perform breast surgery because of its complexity. Method: Sixty four breasts were operated on in thirty two patients. On preoperative assessment seven patients (22%), had grade 3 ptosis and the rest had grade 2 (78%). The majority of women had had children and had breast-fed (85%). The mean follow-up period was (32.6) months (range = 8-46) and over all patient satisfaction was high only Two patients (6%) had minor scar revision and other two had implant exchange. There were no major postoperative complications. Conclusion: The combined technique of circumareolar mastopexy and augmentation with implant is a safe and reliable method to correct ptosis in volume-depleted breasts. Patients should be counseled on the possible need for minor revisional procedures.
