Abstract :
Curriculum is the most important factor thatinfluences the quality of an educational institutionbecause it determines the achievements of thepurposes and objectives of education in an institution.This article attempts to explain the significance ofimplementation of fard ain and fard kifayah in practicewithin the Islamic education curriculum. It explainsthe meaning and classifications of knowledge of fardain and fard kifayah according to the scholars in thepast and present. Furthermore, concepts related to fard ain and fard kifayah such as the balance inpractising fard ain and fard kifayah, criteria of valuesand virtues in knowledge, the nature and objectiveof man’s life, and the dynamic nature of both fardain and fard kifayah are also discussed.
