Abstract :
Financial markets are continually improving with the impact of globalization and efficiently exist with new functions. Development and Investment Banks established and appeared in financial system right after World War II, have not stayed out the process as they enlarged their field of activity. These banks also contributed to the establishment and development of capital market in Turkey. They pioneered that development by supporting the industrialization, mentoring technically, participating to the rehabilitation process of the companies and realizing the public flotation. In this study aiming to measure the performance and performance continuity of these banks, ROA and ROE were used as explained variables. The data was formed by the annual data between 2002-2012. The results stated that ROA and ROE have shown performance continuity in long term at investment banks group. It is also retained that the development and investment banks with public capital have performance in long term with regard to ROA while banks with private capital have performance with regard to ROE.
