Abstract :
The research introduces results of weldability test of precipitation hardened aluminium alloy EN AW 6082 T6. The Houldcroft test (the Fishbone test) was used as weldability test. By this test the susceptibility of base metal to solidification cracking was assessed. As filler metals several wires recommended for welding this base metal were selected and tested, too. The filler wires used are AlSi5, AlMg4.5MnZr and AlMg5Cr. According to the results the selection of filler wire significantly influences solidification cracking susceptibility and using proper filler wire the weldability can be greatly improved
