Abstract :
The assessment at national level of potential impacts of climate change on human health is rather limited in developed and developing nations alike. Likewise, there is a lack of research on the spatial distribution of climate change impacts on public health . Given the fact that adverse impacts of climate change do warrant the formulation of adaptation and mitigation policies, strategies and measures, this paper reviews the literature on quantification methodologies of the socio-economic impacts of climate change on human health with the view of assessing their applicability and relevance in the Malaysian public health context. It is hoped that this will contribute to bridging the current research gap with respect to the quantification of socio-economic impacts in Malaysian Ringgit and the lack of the social sciences’ perspectives on the matter.
