Abstract :
In the field of tourism, hospitality has now become one of the key components that should be included in any of the sectors or services. In Indonesia, hospitality industry has a wide range of Indonesian culture as an attraction. This paper aims to analyze how positive psychology can contribute to the hospitality and tourism sector in Indonesia. Based on two case studies in PT. Aerowisata and homestay in West Java, the study found that the macro framework has been applied in offering hospitality. Positive psychology approach is applied at the micro level which gives a positive attitude in producing positive hospitality. The results of this study provide positive psychological dimension to contribute to the Indonesian hospitality and certain tribes such as Urang Sunda. It is proposed an assessment on participation of Urang Sunda in enhancing their positive psychological dimension because many of these characteristics and practices are capable of providing hospitality experiences in tourism in Indonesia.
