Abstract :
A module is a series of learning activities systematically designed to help students achieve learning objectives. Using self-instructional module can be an effective alternative approach in vocational education. This study evaluated the effectiveness of Buzan Mind Map (BMM) self-instructional module on Malaysian Basic Vocational Education (BVE) students’ achievement. A total of 88 BVE students were selected as research samples using quantitative and quasi-experimental research design. Data were analyzed using SPSS and the reliability of the instrument was α = 0.898. The Pearson-r correlation test results indicated that there was a significant moderate positive correlation between the mastery level of BMM and the students’ achievement test scores (r = 0.890). The ANCOVA test showed that there was a significant difference between the treatment group and control group for the post-test results (p .05).
