Abstract :
To enhance the life coping skills of Malaysian young population, a teaching aid was developed for levels 1-3 physical science students. This involved reading the schematic circuit and circuit connectivity on a practical basis, enabling them to learn about basic circuit connectivity without needing a lot of teachers’ help. It was found that by means of this gadget students were able to connect a wiring schematic circuit. Every time a connection was made, this gadget will check whether the connection was correct or incorrect. This gadget also introduced students to basic terminology of the electrical circuit such as short circuit, open circuit, wrong polarity and complete the circuit. All of this was shown by the connections and indicator lights. By having this gadget, teachers no longer needed to check the connections made by students one by one. This had not only enhanced the students’ ability to read and make practical transfer to the schematic circuit wiring and connecting electrical circuits but also, more meaningfully, instilled greater self confidence of the students, thus fulfilling a basic goals of education itself.
