Abstract :
For Muslims a set of indicators denoting the actual level of Islamic adherence in their vicinity is both useful and meaningful. As Islam is deemed by them as a way of life, the more comprehensive this set of Islamic Index is the better. This study signified an attempt at constructing the Islamic Index for the population of the Pangkor Island using GIS applications. The resulting maps showed the distribution of Islamic adherence in the Island ranging from low and moderately low to moderate and moderately high indices. Such findings may not just contribute to better understanding of the state of Islamic adherence in the Island but also the policy implications of that understanding.
