Abstract :
The growth of a two-phase cloud of a liquid fu el in a stagnantatmosph ere is studied using comp utational fluid dynamictechniques. In order to predict the danger and hazard of suchcloud in open atmosphere it is velY important to determine theuel concentration in the cloud, especially in the far field regionfrom the fu el reservoir. The results show that with omission ofdroplets break up, the vapori zation rate becomes very low dueto large droplets and vapor cloud would be highly elongated. Ifthe collis ion of droplets is neglected, vapor volum e is high er.The results also show that when the height of de vice isincreased, the cloud will have more symmetry. Any decrease ininjection velocity leads to lower radial expansion of cloud.Reduction of injection time duration decreases the dangerou spart of cloud slightly.
