Abstract
As adolescents are a significant generation of the nation, adolescents should be holistically developed in various aspects, be it spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical. However the current changes in the globalization era have become a challenge to the development said. Motivation is a vital element in the adolescents’ development effort, as well as serving as a curb to the social problems. Nevertheless motivation has been found to decline at the adolescence stage. Hence the motivation boost through programs with specific modules is considered particularly significant. By applying a holistic content analysis method, this paper attempts to shed light on intrinsic motivation from the Islamic perspective, by focusing on the module of Motivasi Alihan Pelajar (MAP). Based on the analysis, Motivasi Alihan Pelajar is found to apply all the four elements of motivation in the self-development of adolescents according to the Islamic perspective. The paradigm applied in this module can be used as reference to those who are responsible in shaping a better adolescents’ self-motivation
