Solving the nurse scheduling problem properly has a great impact on nurse’s working conditions which are strongly related to the level of quality of health care and recruiting of qualified personnel. So this study is done for the purpose of building a more systematic schedule for the nurses. This study is carried out to build a model for the problem of the nursing scheduling. The model has applied the 0-1 goal programming method (GP).This model also took into accounts the hospital objectives and nurse’s preference. The hospital objectives are to ensure the service is continuous and suitable with the number of nurses available. Meanwhile, the working pattern required by nurses such as isolated days on (off-on-off) are to be avoided and isolated days off (on-off-on) are to be avoided are considered in this scheduling method. This GP model has been solved by using LINGO software and the result is found to be better compared to the present method used.
