  • Abstract
    Malay community has been told for a long time with knowledge from their ancestors. Malay knowledge are disclosed in the form of tips, charms and many more considered as an old-fashioned, irrational and have no scientific value. Colonization of Malaya by the Portuguese, Dutch and English have a trigger to a western-orientation knowledge culture among Malays. For example, British has opened up little space on the Malay elite persuing Western orientation, indirectly has started to change the public perception of Malay traditional knowledge and they have begun to reassess the traditional Malay knowledge based on new values are studied. This paper explained the aspects of science and technology in general and especially mathematics in tips, oracle and charms. This aspects is not only because we want to match this traditional knowledge with present science but want researchers looking at this knowledge from different sides and angles. This paper covered science and mathematics that can be seen on calculation of days in the construction of house, giving the name of the child based on their birth date and calculation of the star.
