Abstract
Islamic Education aims to develop competent human either spiritually or physically to achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter. The aim of this study was to determine the extent of Islamic Education curriculum in building the character of muslim students in polytechnic according to students’ perception. This is a quantitative study using questionnaires as the instrument. The respondents consisted of 412 east coast polytechnics students. The data obtained were analyzed with regard to the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results showed that the curriculum of Islamic Education in the polytechnic was effective in shaping the character of muslim students with a mean value of 4.51 which is at a very good level. Polytechnic students also view that the sections contained in Islamis education curriculum is suitable to build the muslim character in their own self. This is proved with the mean value 4.41 which is at a very good level. To conclude, Islamic education curriculum at polytechnics is effective in developing the students, muslim character
