Promoting Regional cooperation through medical journalism

Despite glorious past contributions by Muslim research scientists to the medical literature remains negligible because the rulers did not give medical research due importance. However, the situation is now gradually changing and during the last two three decades, lot of research work is being done in many Muslim countries. There has been an increase in publications from countries like Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan and a number of good quality peer reviewed biomedical journals are now being published from these countries and many of them have now got an Impact Factor considered to be one of the important yardstick to judge the quality and standard of a medical journal.
