KESEDIAAN DIRI ANGGOTA MASYARAKAT DARIPADA PERSPEKTIF PSIKOLOGI BERKAITAN BENCANA BANJIR DI DAERAH SEGAMAT

The recent inreasing intensity and occurances of flood disaster in Segamat district causes significant property destruction and loss of lives which relevance to self preparadness of the public facing the flood disaster. The main objective of the research is to scrutenise the self preparadness of the public towards cognitive preparation, afectiveness and psychomotor facing the flood disaster. The sampel involves 1100 individuals representing 11 mukim in the district. The result shows most of the mukim affected by the flood has a significant relation from the cognitive, afectiveness and psicomotor perspective. The existance of the self preparadness depends on the frequency occurance of the flood in the area. This is proven in the mukim of Chaah, Labis and Pagoh which does not show any significant relation between self preparadness variant towards preparadness and accept the Null Hypothesis because all the mukims which were not affected by the flood due to the topography, which is very high compare to the other mukim in Segamat district. This result is very important because it has created the impact for the needness to enhance the framework for working together in the aspect of physicology in the Arahan 20 Majlis Keselamatan Negara, so that flood management system can be improved.
