Applicability of the Ombudsman System in Turkey and Alternative Methods of Auditing

In Turkey, with a constitutional change, the institution of the Ombudsman becomes a part of the audition methods in 2010. There are question marks as to whether there is a need for such an institution in Turkey, in the light of the existence of similar institutions, including the State Supervisory Board and the Council of Ethics for Public Service. While there are some major differences between them, both institutional boards have similar duties and powers. In this study, the ombudsman system in Turkey has been approached from a critical and comparative perspective that evaluates its potential for success.
