Abstract
68 Ga is one of the most important positron emitters, used in diagnostic medicine. The excitation functions for the production of this isotope through d, 3He and 4He ions induced reactions on different targets are summarized, discussed, and averaged. Theoretical code calculations for these excitation functions are carried out using TALYS-1.4 and EMPIRE-3.1 codes. The thick target yields for the different reactions are estimated, depending on the calculated averaged functions and the code calculations. The produced impurities for the different reactions are discussed.
