Abstract :
The coupled conduction and radiation heat transfer inside composite slab ofabsorbing-emitting anisotropic scattering medium is studied. Thecomposite slab includes two homogeneous and an inhomogeneous layersslab with specularly reflecting boundaries. A Galerkin technique is used tosolve the radiative equation in integral forms for the two layers while aniterative method is taken to include the nonlinearity effect of thetemperature distribution of the medium from conductive energy equation.Numerical results are obtained for the temperature, the conductive, radiative and the total heat fluxes for the two an inhomogeneous layers withisotropic and anisotropic scattering. The calculations for transparentboundaries and homogeneous slab with isotropic scattering are carried outand compared to show good agreement with the published calculations.
