Diabetic Kidney Disease Act Now or Pay Later

In 2003, the International Society of Nephrology(ISN) and the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) launched a booklet called Diabetes and Kidney:Time to Act1 to highlight the global pandemic oftype 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and diabetic kidneydisease. It aimed to alert governments, healthorganisations, providers, doctors, and patients tothe increasing health and socioeconomic problemsdue to diabetic kidney disease and its sequelae,end-stage kidney disease requiring dialysis andcardiovascular death. Seven years later, the samemessage has become even more urgent.
