  • Abstract
This work is intended to evaluate the impact of the activity of Olive mill wastewater (OMW) waste from a three-phase system on the receiving environment of the river Boufekrane for the period olive and throughout the 2009-2010 and releases of untreated sewage on physico-chemical and bacteriological water of the river of Boufekrane in Morocco. For this analysis physico-chemical and bacteriological were performed on seven stations Boufekrane bed of the river. A multivariate analysis was performed to detect the correlation between physico-chemical and bacteriological. The results of this study have shown that the spatio-temporal monitoring of the pollution of the river Boufekrane in terms of quality and follows an increasing gradient source witness in endorsement and is characterized by high levels of COD (chemical oxygen demand), BOD5 (biological oxygen demand), SS (suspended solids)… Furthermore fecal contamination has proved by increasing the upstream to downstream in fecal coliform contamination (TC), fecal coliforms (FC) and fecal streptococci (FS), anaerobic sulphite-reducing clostridia (ASCR) and total mesophilic flora anaerobic (TMFA). There have also an overrun standards of quality Moroccan and WHO recommendations. The statistical approach to principal component analysis (PCA) has confirmed the spatio-temporal variation of test results obtained results of analyzes obtained during flood periods and summer. In terms of water use the river Boufekrane , it could be a significant health risk for the inhabitants of the region of Meknes-Tafilalt
