Abstract :
The Ru-Sn system has been assessed by means of the Calphad approach. The liquid phase has been described with the association solution model with ‘Ru_3Sn_7’ as an associated complex. The solution phases ( (Ru) and (Sn)) were modeled with the sublattice formalism and the excess term of the Gibbs energy with the Redlich-Kister equation. The Ru_2Sn_3 and Ru_3Sn_7 phases have been treated as stoichiometric compounds. The calculated phase diagram and the thermodynamic properties of the system are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data.
