Abstract :
A new one-dimensional polymeric complex [Cd(DMAB)2(SCN)2]n (DMAB = 4- Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde) (1) has been synthesized and characterized by elementalanalyses, IR and single crystal X-ray crystallography. It crystallizes in the monoclinic spacegroup of P21/c with a = 5.8673(5) Å, b = 7.4615(8) Å, c = 25.411(2) Å, β = 91.9320(10)°, and Z = 2. Crystal structure shows that the one-dimensional chain is propagated through doubly bridging thiocyanate and DMAB acts as terminal ligand. Furthermore, thermal stability and luminescent property of 1 were investigated.
