Abstract
Corrosion inhibition of aluminum in 1M NaOH solution by Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum leaves extract was investigated using the weight loss technique. A plant extract solution of 14 g/L at 50 °C was found to inhibit the corrosion of aluminum with an inhibition efficiency of 95.1%. The inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increasing the concentration of the plant extract at 50 °C. Different adsorption isotherms, Langmuir and Temkin, were tested to investigate the nature of adsorption.
