Abstract :
Rolling is a mechanical treatment, which plays an important part in theprocessing of ferrous and nonferrous alloys. Texturing is an importantphenomenon that occurs after rolling process. Preferred orientation increasesthe strength of the material enormously. Hence the research is focused on therolling studies and the texture formation, which occurs after rolling process. This review mainly focuses on rolling process carried out in different alloys. Italso highlights the analysis made on various rolling parameters for improvingthe mechanical properties. Texture studies carried on various ferrous and nonferrousalloys; particularly in nitrogen alloyed duplex stainless steel isdiscussed. Finally the need for implementation of occupational health andsafety during a thermomechanical treatment is also discussed. The state of art inthis field is encouraging and showing positive signs of commercializing rollednitrogen alloyed duplex stainless steel after proper texture control
