Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative analysis between conventional switched reluctance motor (SRM) and mutually coupled SRM (MCSRM) for equal copper losses. Copper winding volume and electrical resistance per phase are calculated based on SOLIDWORKSTM analysis. The proposed method will enable the designers to accurately estimate the phase resistance ahead of the machine construction. In the final part, the electrical and magnetic characteristics of both machines are compared, based on MAXWELL 2D results
