Abstract :
Epilepsy is the commonest serious chronic disease of the nervous system. One in 200 people has epilepsy and one person in 50 will develop epi- lepsy at some time in their life. Twenty five percent of people newly diagnosed with epilepsy are under the age of 20 and the same proportion of newly di- agnosed patients is over the age of 60. One in 20 people will have a single epileptic seizure in their life time.
