Abstract :
Quinoline is mainly used as the building block to other special chemicals. Its principle use is a precursor for 8-hydroxy quinoline which is versatile chelating agent and precursorto pesticide. A series of N-(quinoline-4-yl-methylene) benzene imine derivatives has been synthesized by reaction between quinoline-4-carboxaldehyde and some aromaticand heterocyclic anilines to yield the Schiff’s bases. The structure of newly synthesized compounds was confirmed by the analytical and spectral data’s (FTIR, 1HNMR, MS). Data show the positive results, and indicates that the formation of the product takes place and all the compounds show the satisfactory yields.
