Abstract
This research was aimed to gather data on the use of interactive multimedia on teaching and learning reading among students in a Guided Reading and Writing Programme (PROBIM). Respondents were 40 form one students from four secondary schools in Kedah. The data was collected using a 5 point Likert scale questionnaire distributed to schools with students attending the PROBIM. The findings showed that the use of interactive multimedia in improving reading performance scored a positive mean of 4.03 (SD =.55). In terms of the use of interactive multimedia in creating an active learning climate scored a mean of 4:32 (SD = 0.46). Further, the respondents also said that the interactive multimedia is an effective teaching aid with a mean score of 4.24 (SD =. 47). In conclusion, the use of interactive multimedia in learning reading skills is very effective and successful in creating a fun learning environment.
