Abstract :
In this study, the effect of expression course course on prospective elementary school teachers’ communication skills, reading interests and habits was investigated. The sample of the study consisted of 98 freshman at primary school teaching department of Adnan Menderes University. As data gathering instruments, Teacher Communication Skills Scale (Çetinkanat 1997), Reading Interests Scale, Reading Habits expression questionnaire, (Dökmen, 1994) andalso 5 questioned personal information form were used. In the data analysis, frequency, t-testand correlation co-efficient were calculated according to the sub problems. I was observedthat there was a significant increase on prospective teachers’ level of communication skillsafter getting written expression course. As a result, prospective elementary school teachers’communication skills were found as medium level.
