Abstract :
Language, completely differentiating human from other beings and the most essential feature pertaining to human, express itself most fully in the conversation skills within the other skills it has. Because, human does not live alone and is always in communication with others. From the primitives to the today’s human, even if a great number of means were used in an effort to establish communication, the most efficient way of communication is the conversation. Conversation is an efficient way for human to live in equal conditions with other humans, groups and society and even to shape the lives of groups and societies. In order that this way is used efficiently, the level achieved with the help of informal education, is not sufficient. By means of education received from schools, the conversation skill is increased to a more active level of usage. In the conversation/speech training, first of all, the self-confidence of the person should be acquired. In this study, considering the egocentric stance, in which the student has utter self-confidence, what can be done is emphasized and furthermore, in order to put this stance forward, what the conversation skill is, the theories based upon the bases of conversation and the conversation/speech training are touched upon.
