Abstract
Determination of science and technology teachers’ in-service training (Inset) needs on performance assessment is aimed in this study. The study was carried out at 2007–2008 instructional term-first semester with 30 science and technology teachers in Artvin centre primary schools. The sample was selected among volunteer teachers. In this research qualitative research method was used. Data was gathered via semi structured interviews. Content – analysis has been promoted to analyze the data. After interview data were analyzed, it was determined that teachers need an Inset on performance assessment and performance assessment instruments such as anecdote record, check list, grade scale, rubric, portfolio, peer and self assessment forms
