Abstract :
The objective of this study was to investigate physics teachers’ understandings of contextbasedphysics problems. The sampling of the study consisted of a total of 27 physics teacherswho were volunteers for participation. The data were collected through open-ended questions,and content analysis method was utilized for the interpretation of the data. The results of thestudy indicated that the teachers did not possess sufficient knowledge about what context-basedproblem is and how it is constructed. The study was also concluded that teachers may carryout their applications in courses randomly. In the light of the results, it is suggested to takemeasures to increase teachers’ competence with in-service applications.
