Abstract :
The aim of this research was to determine the views of research assistants about the process of training the scientists and offer some suggestions. Semi structured interview form was used in this qualitative research. The study group of this research was composed of 10 research assistants that work in İzmir Educational Faculties during 2011-2012 who were chosen via criterion sample. The results revealed out that not significant importance is given on training the scientist according to some reasons such as the lesson load, lack of financial support, promotion criterions. Also, it was indicated that the process of training the scientists isaccepted as organizational ordinary process and is not supported enough. In addition to these results, it is determined that science is used as a tool for academic promotion.
