Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to see the children’s spatial relationship with the help of various pre-school activities in terms of Piaget’s spatial notion of ‘proximity, separation, order and surround skills’ and come out with designed map samples. Accordingly, action research, one of the qualitative research methods, is used to discover the real picture underlying what is superficially seen and to achieve in-depth knowledge. The children were given spatial maps and space-related activities during the study. Data such as practice, observation records, and interview questions obtained through the study were interpreted via descriptive analysis. The study reveals that once children are involved in spatial activities, supported by relevant and rich spatial perception input, they can easily apply the instructions on map samples.
