Abstract
The aim of this study is to find out the student’s thoughts about using historical soap operas in history lessons. Phenomenological pattern was used in this study. Data were obtained by a focus group interview form. In data analysis process, content analysis method was used. Results showed that some students thought that the historical soap operas do not reflect the realities. Some thought the historical soap operas make students question. Some of the think that the soap operas are damaging the students a negative way. In sum, the historical soap operas are very important but it is not possible to use them in history lessons with this form.
