Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine favouritism behaviours of primary school managers from teachers’ point of view. Study group of the research carried out with qualitative research pattern consists of 15 teachers working in “Y” central district primary schools while continuing their graduate teaching in 2013-2014 academic year. Data collected by interview form were resolved with content and descriptive analysis techniques. According to research results: Managers exhibit favouritism behaviours at schools depending on politics, friends and relatives, gender, union, award-penalty, promotion and their own interests. The ones benefiting from favouritism have priorities in having their wishes and procedures met easily (regarding lesson programs, duty schedules, leaves etc.) and becoming authorities unduly in prestigious duties etc. As a result of favouritism, people working at schools develop negative attitudes towards each other, the manager, institution, the service given and the working climax.
